My name is Ricardo Capdepont. I am 55 years old, and currently reside with my family in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have always been passionate about the beauty and richness of the natural world. I studied commercial photography at Brooks Institute, in Santa Barbara, California. In 1997 I met my wife and partner through an American Express commercial shot in Patagonia with the father of snowboarding, the late Jake Burton Carpenter (see link at the bottom of this page).

After working as a photo assistant for a few years, I founded my own production company in Los Angeles, California. I got to work with some of the top photographers in the world, shooting ad campaigns all around the US. It was very exciting work, closing down freeways and tunnels, working with the private sector, as well as government offices, at the municipal, state and federal levels.

In late 2015, we made a big sacrifice and moved back to Argentina to be close to our aging parents. The production business was not as relevant in Buenos Aires as it was in the US. Utilizing my transferable skills, I worked as the International Trade and Finance Manager for one of the top home decoration companies in the country. Responsibilities included overseeing the company’s cash flow, all financials and logistics with two hundred vendors worldwide, and making strategic financial decisions on a daily basis.

The work was entertaining but it always left me wanting for more. So in 2024 I moved on in order to manage our family’s real estate assets, and antiques business store (founded by my grandfather in 1963).
